Jazz Doctors: A Classic Jazz band
The Jazz Doctors are a group of jazz musicians who have played for various organizations over the past 20 years. Originally formed by Fred McCormack, a retired pharmacist on piano and Linsy Farris, an Ophthalmologist on upright bass, the present group has added Art Hartwick a retired Orthodontist on drums, Ron Kraus, a Clinical Psychologist on trumpet, and Tad Schaefer, a hospital engineer on guitar.

Perhaps the common medical background makes the group fit so well together. Each of these musicians listens to the others and makes their contribution in such a way that one unified listening experience results. The American songbook and current jazz standards make up their repertoire. You can tell they are having fun and as a result their listening audience does too, whether they are enjoying diner and table conversation or observing and listening to each musical instrument take the lead with the support of his colleagues.
